TIAG App
Privacy Policy
Effective July 20, 2026
The short version: we collect the minimum we need to run your membership, we are private by default, we never sell your data, and every visibility choice on the community map is yours to make and change.
Who we are
The TIAG App (tiag.app and its connected sites — globe.tiag.app, independenceseries.com, lulusgarden.com, havenpermaculture.com, myhaven.space) is operated by United Works LLC, doing business as Lulu's Garden, publishing as The Independent American Gardener ("TIAG", "we"). Homestead-design services are provided by Haven Permaculture LLC. Questions or requests: support@tiagcommunity.com.
What we collect, and why
- Your email address — it is your sign-in (we email you a 6-digit code instead of storing a password) and how we know which membership is yours.
- A session cookie — a single HttpOnly cookie that keeps you signed in. It contains only an opaque session id, never your personal details. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
- Purchase records — when you buy through our store, Shopify tells us the product and the email on the order so we can unlock your access. We never see or store your card number.
- Your profile & privacy choices — display name (optional) and your visibility switches for the community map (see "The Globe" below).
- Course and checklist progress — so lessons stay checked off across your devices.
- Support messages and bug reports — what you send us through the chat bubble or bug reporter, so we can respond and fix things.
The Globe (community map) — private by default
- Member pins are anonymous by default: no names are shown unless you explicitly opt in.
- Pin locations are approximate — displaced from any exact address before display.
- You choose separately what the signed-in community sees and what the public sees (pin, name, region), at first sign-in and any time after in Account → Privacy & visibility.
Who processes data for us
We use a small set of infrastructure providers, each only for what's listed:
- Cloudflare — hosts the app and stores member data (sessions, entitlements, progress, files).
- Shopify — processes all payments and subscriptions.
- Resend — delivers sign-in codes and membership emails.
- Telegram — relays support-chat messages, and hosts our optional news channel.
We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, and we run no third-party ad or analytics trackers.
Retention & your rights
- We keep your account data while your membership is active, and for a reasonable period after so you can come back.
- You can see and change your profile and visibility choices from your account page.
- You can sign out everywhere — signing out invalidates the session server-side.
- To delete your account and data, email support@tiagcommunity.com from your member email and we will remove your profile, progress and pin.
Children
The TIAG App and its family curriculum are sold to and operated by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and note meaningful changes in the member news channel. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
